This past week, I asked a question that was originally suggested by Johnny, aka Alpha6:
With the idea that our Miami Dolphins have taken multiple members of both the front office and coaching staff away from the Green Bay Packers to rebuild the staff in Miami, do you see the Packers taking a step back, aka are they now weakened by subtraction, and/or will our own Dolphins take a step forward, aka strengthened by addition?
I did not receive as many answers as I would have liked, but below are some of the thoughts and answers that we did get-

TheRoo1 chimed in with some more ideas for us to base articles on. Always appreciated! Any ideas at any time can be sent to me via the comments section of my post or directly via my X/Twitter account.
James, since the Phins will be bargain basement shoppers this year in free agency, articles on matching needs to low budget fills,,,, pick a position group and go.
or
highlight miami rehab facility, association with Baptist health, can Phins develop a reputation as a preferred location for players rehabbing or returning from injury, Can we get some good one or two year rentals of returning players wanting to take advantage of Phin facilities and staff .
A primer article on contract types, futures etc, effect on salary cap, cap dates, requirements, and ways to stretch the cap.
just a few ideas
finfanfromsiam, in response to TheRoo1 wants no more broken-down players.
Please no more injured players with upside or potential….!
CaliFins, in response to finfanfromsiam concurs on the broken-down player thing and does not want players signed just because they used to be great.
That was my biggest gripe. We are cap strapped, but we are going to bring in an injured Beckham and have him just collect a check for most of the season so we can sell jerseys with his name on them. Or hey, next season let’s do it again with Waller!! That $3Mill for Beckham was thrown away and McDaniel was so busy looking at his shinny new toy in Waller and thinking of all the great things he can open up for him, that he missed seeing Dulcich on his own practice squad until the end of the season.
I’m glad this regime is seeing it. Built a tough next man up culture from within. Nurture players for years, don’t rent them for one or two.
Dolfanjoe hopes that we are not doing this all over again in 4-6 years.
Should we put the Dolphin flag at (Half Staff ) ! Retaining some of the Miami staff and adding GBs to the top of the food chain ? What happens in 27 when we have the first pick in the draft ? Will they say plan has gone perfectly. Or will the Fan’s be clamoring for off with there heads ! Will GB be there with the second pick in the draft because they lost Coaches and couldn’t find anyone to take there place ? I have yet to see how long the contracts are for our head coach and GM. I would guess about 6 years. Hopefully by 4 they have earned them. I keep using the magic 8 ball i have found at the garage sale, of course while wearing my Ricky jersey i bought for ten bucks. And each time i ask if they made the right decision the answer keeps coming up Try Again ? Does that mean in 6 years try again or this thing is stuck ? Oh well i guess we have years to decide if all is well with the Universe……………………
coach k 13 likes the idea of adding staff from the GB Pakcker due to their past success.
I could really care less what happens with Green bay! LOL!, but I like Miami getting coaches from the Packers, Let’s face it, they have been a solid team for many many years.
finfanfromsiam belives that Green Bay will hold onto their culture and just reload. Also hopes that it translates the same way for the Dolphins.
I think the Packers will reload and be fine. They have their culture and way of doing things so will be ok. We can only hope that translates to be what we can build here. I think getting rid of the anchor of Grier/McDaniel is addition by subtraction. The new infusion of blood should propel us forward to hopefully reach in the same neighborhood of Green Bay. We will see how it pans out starting in March.
Spok507 doesn’t know much about Packers guys, but seems encouraged that they are going to move on from Tua.
I’ll admit I don’t know much about the new GM and HC and even less about the Packers. I can only hope they have a plan to bring this franchise back to prominence. I’ve waited a long time for them to move on from the mistake of drafting Tua, so I have to hope things will improve. I do believe they can rebuild as long as they focus on substance instead of flash now.
Well thats it for our comments this evening. As always, thank you to each of you who took the time to answer our Phinsider Question Of The Day. I will return tomorrow evening with a new question of the day post.
