For the second straight night, Mi Hyang Lee will sleep on the lead at Blue Bay LPGA. It likely won’t be a painless night of sleep, though.

Lee played a rollercoaster round of golf at Jian Lake Blue Bay Golf Course in Hainan, China, on Saturday. The 32-year-old from South Korea made seven birdies and six bogeys en route to a 1-under 71 in the third round to follow up two solid rounds of 67 and 66. Lee, a veteran pro who first joined the LPGA in 2012, is doing all this while still recovering from a shoulder injury.

Lee Mi-hyang of South Korea plays a shot in the fourth round of the 2026 LPGA Blue Bay golf tournament at the Jian Lake Blue Bay Golf Club in Lingshui, on China’s southern Hainan island on March 7, 2026.

“[The injury happened] last September at Kroger Championship,” Lee said. “I really wanted to finish until CME [Tour Championship]… I just kept fighting and that makes it worse. Then I had two-and-a-half months off but I’m still not 100 percent yet. This is my third week, so I think a little overdoing it for my shoulder. Last night I couldn’t sleep without my medication, so hopefully just one more day for tomorrow.”

Lee will enter the final round with a decent cushion on the leaderboard. She’s 12 under, three shots clear of a tie for second between Hye-Jin Choi and Yu Liu. A good score Sunday could secure Lee a third career LPGA victory. That’s enough for her to play through the pain.

“I tried to half-swing, but I think I didn’t. I think that’s why I decided to go with a little more tape on my shoulder. Then my doctor and my dad, my trainer, she just kept telling me to be relaxed. ‘Half swing, please just don’t hit 100%.’ I was just in the zone. It was little different situation [compared to] yesterday. We were in the final group. I want to play well and make birdies, so it was little hard to control it. So my answer is I tried it, but I didn’t.”

The final group of Lee, Choi and Liu will tee off at 11:02 a.m. local time Sunday in China, or 10:02 p.m. ET Saturday night in the U.S.
