Rory McIlroy was brilliant for much of his third round Saturday at The Masters, finishing with a 6-under-par 66 after getting birdies on four holes and eagles on two holes.

What does he have in store for an encore?

McIlroy enters Sunday at the 2025 edition of The Masters with a 2-stroke lead over Bryson DeChambeau, his playing partner for the final 18 holes at Augusta National Golf Club. It’s a tenuous advantage, one that was made that much tighter after DeChambeau sank a long putt from just off the 18th green to get to 10-under-par for the tournament Saturday.

For McIlroy, Sunday will be an opportunity to exorcise past demons. The 35 year old from Northern Ireland has never won The Masters and has experienced various forms of heartbreak over the years at Augusta National, with the nadir likely coming in 2011, when he shot an 8-over-par 80 on Sunday after entering the final round with a 4-stroke lead.

If he’s able to hold off DeChambeau and the other competitors for a victory, McIlroy will complete the career grand slam. He has won each of the other three major tournaments at least once.

Here’s a look at how McIlroy has fared Sunday as he chases down his first green jacket:
