Olympique de Marseille have reached a full agreement with CJ Egan-Riley (22), according to a report from Fabrice Hawkins. The England youth international will sign a four-year deal with the Ligue 1 side.
RC Strasbourg Alsace looked to have been in pole position to sign Egan-Riley before Marseille pounced on the opportunity. The defender is a free agent this summer with his contract at Burnley expiring at the end of the month.
OM have now reached a full agreement with the player, who will sign a four-year deal. Currently on international duty with the England U21s, he will undergo a medical when the calendar allows it. In reaching an agreement with Egan-Riley, Marseille have not only beaten domestic rivals Strasbourg, but a whole host of clubs across Europe.
As per Hawkins, the likes of West Ham United, Crystal Palace, AC Milan, and Porto were also in for the defender, who next season will be playing at the Vélodrome.
