A recently returned WWE star is already being mishandled, according to Bill Apter. The veteran journalist was surprised to see how the star in question, Rusev, was being booked after the massive pop he received in his comeback.
Rusev was one of the standout characters in WWE on his previous run. However, many thought that his booking left something to be desired. His run in AEW did not fare better either, as he was rarely seen on screen and had limited matches. After he returned to the Stamford-based promotion in April this year, he started a feud with Alpha Academy.
Speaking on UnSKripted, Bill Apter lamented the loss of momentum in Rusev’s push and stated:
“Is Rusev lost already? I know he is gonna be you know, in the whole King of the Ring thing, but I barely hear any talk or any mention about him. I thought they were gonna bring him back with a real fury, really stock ’em in there. But I barely hear anything about him right now.” [22:08 onwards]
It remains to be seen what is next for Rusev down the line.

A fan of pro wrestling since childhood, Shubhajit decided to start creating content on the sport out of passion. Before covering a piece of news or rumor, he conducts thorough research, ensuring information in his work is reliable and completely accurate.
Although Shubhajit admires numerous pro wrestlers, his current favorite is WWE superstar Drew McIntyre. He is fond of The Scottish Warrior’s character work and innovative quips.
If there is one storyline he can work on in WWE, Shubhajit would book Roman Reigns’ future with The Bloodline following WrestleMania XL, where he lost to Cody Rhodes. He would have Reigns’ stablemates excommunicate him, laying the foundation for a gimmick change for the former. After Reigns’ exit from the faction, Shubhajit would portray him as an anti-hero trying hard to claw his way back up to the top.
