In an official statement, Lille have denied reports that Bruno Génésio wishes to quit his role as the head coach at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy. Les Dogues have struggled with some poor results in recent weeks, and this has seen increased pressure mounting on the former Lyon manager.
Despite sitting 5th in Ligue 1, Lille have lost their last 4 games in all competitions. These include a 3-0 thrashing against PSG and a Coupe de France exit in a 2-1 defeat against OL. The French club’s hopes of qualifying for the knockout stages were also dented after losing against Celta Vigo. Les Dogues must win their final game to guarantee a spot in the knockout stages.
