Dame Laura Davies has picked Aberg to win the Players but she admitted that she thinks one man is very capable of chasing him down.
The outcome of The Players Championship is far from a foregone conclusion.
Aberg has played supremely well this week at TPC Sawgrass but he’s certainly not infallible.
The Swede will have to safely navigate numerous difficult holes if he is to win The Players Championship.
Aberg made a couple of mistakes in his final three holes at The Players on day three. He hit a really poor second shot into the 16th green and then three-putted his final hole for a bogey.
And if the 26-year-old does slip up along the way, there are plenty of seasoned winners who are waiting in the wings.

Laura Davies thinks one man could chase down Ludvig Aberg at The Players

“Ever since he had that streak in the second round, where he was five-under through four, he’s been at the front. And he hasn’t looked uncomfortable at the front, so I’ll go with him.
“But if there is a man that I think could charge him down, it’s Cam Young.
“Apart from 18, he doubled 18 yesterday, he got in the rarified air of double figures under par. Not many have done it this week.

“He got there, he did come back to nine. He’s only four back, and he got that win last year, and all of a sudden, he looks a different player.
“So, I’ll throw him into the mix.“
Cam Young certainly has the ability to go low. It just depends on what score Aberg shoots.
If the Swede posts a round in the 60s, it will be extremely difficult for anyone to catch him.

In fact, the 28-year-old New Yorker believes he is more than capable of shooting a 63 on Sunday.
“I don’t expect him (Aberg) to give me much,” Young said.
“But I also feel like could I shoot 8- or 9-under, so like we saw with JT last year, he shot 10, you know, Ludvig shot 9 yesterday, there’s been a bunch of 7s, and I wouldn’t expect him to give me even one back.
“But I think those numbers are out there, and no reason why I can’t be the one to shoot them.“
If Cam Young does go out and shoots a 63 in the final round of The Players, Ludvig Aberg will have to shoot 67 to force a playoff.
What an incredible final day’s golf it would be for the fans if that happened!
