Baltimore Ravens star Lamar Jackson wasn’t able to play the past couple weeks, but still found a way to make an impact with the team. Turns out, Jackson was the main voice behind the Ravens removing ping-pong tables and games from the team’s locker room amid its poor start to the season.

Jackson confirmed as much Tuesday, saying he wanted his teammates to focus on turning things around after starting the year 1-5.

“I told Kenico [Hines], our head equipment guy, I told him to take all the games and ping-pong and turn the TVs off. If we could have took the TVs out, they would have been out too. I appreciate Mr. Steve [Bisciotti] for putting that in there for us, but we had to focus.

“I don’t want to say people don’t take the job serious, don’t get me wrong, but I don’t feel like it was the time for that. We’ve got a lot of work to do.”

Jackson was asked about his role in the team removing games from the locker room after veteran Marlon Humphrey revealed Jackson was at the center of the tactic. Jackson wasn’t upset that his name was leaked and happily answered the question.

Jackson said he does not anticipate those games to return to the locker room until next season. For now, he wants the Ravens focused on getting back to their winning ways.

The team accomplished that Sunday, beating the Chicago Bears 30-16. The win pushed the Ravens to 2-5, keeping the team alive in a shaky AFC North.

While the Ravens still have a lot of work to do to get to a winning record, help is on the way. Jackson is ready to return from his hamstring injury, and is expected to play against the Miami Dolphins on Thursday night.
