CORINTH — There’s a new golfer at the top of the Coca-Cola Junior Golf Tour’s highest boys division.

Jackson Knight ran away from the pack on Monday afternoon at the Shiloh Ridge Athletic Club to win the 16-18 division. He shot 3-over 71, four strokes better than the second-place finisher, Trey Craven.

With the win, Knight earns 150 points in the standings, jumping Everett Dabbs for first place with two more events remaining.

“I feel like I played pretty good, hit it pretty good,” he said. “I didn't make many putts, but I just played steady golf, and I just feel like I played as good as I could.”

This marks Knight’s second event win of the 2025 Coke Tour. He won the event at Starkville Country Club on June 30.

“It just gives me a little bit of comfort knowing that I got some momentum heading into these last couple tournaments,” he said.

Meanwhile, Whitley Young shot 9-over 81 to roll to first place in the 13-18 girls division. She finished six strokes ahead of Mary Stewart in second place.

"It's really exciting to be able to win after I've been putting in so much effort and work,” she said. “And I just haven't been getting anything out of my rounds lately, so it's kind of nice to finally get a reward.”

Young, a rising sophomore at Tupelo Christian, finished third at Pontotoc Country Club and seventh at Tupelo National. On Monday, the difference was finally being able to putt well consistently.

“My putting hasn't been the best,” she said. “And today I just feel like it was flowing really well.”

The Coke Tour continues next Monday, July 21 at the River Birch Golf Course in Amory. The tour concludes with the championship event from July-29-30 at the Tupelo Country Club.
