Kate Middleton isn’t letting cancer get in the way of watching two of the best men’s tennis players in the world.

The Princess of Wales is making a rare public appearance on Sunday, as Middleton is in attendance in London to watch Carlos Alcaraz vs. Novak Djokovic in the Wimbledon men’s singles final.

The match features Djokovic, who is all-time men’s Grand Slam titles leader with 24 in his career, and Alcaraz, the surging Spaniard who is viewed as the future face of men’s tennis. Djokovic is currently ranked No. 2 in the world, while Alcaraz holds the No. 3 ranking.

Here is more to know about Middleton and her appearance at Wimbledon.

Is Kate Middleton at Wimbledon?

Middleton’s showing at the All England Club marks only her second public appearance since she revealed in March that she was undergoing cancer treatment.

Since 2016, the princess has held the title as the patron of the All England Club, the home for the Wimbledon tournament each year. Her ceremonial duties include handing out the winner’s trophies after the singles finals.

However, she was not in attendance on Saturday to hand Barbora Krejcikova her trophy after defeating Jasmine Paolini for the women’s title.

In addition to Middleton, her daughter, Charlotte, was with her to watch the men’s singles final, as well as her sister, Pippa Middleton. Her husband, Prince Charles, who is heir to the English throne, was not in attendance at the All England Club. Instead, he is planning to watch England face Spain in the Euro 2024 final, which is taking place later on Sunday in Germany.

Kate Middleton cancer

Middleton revealed that she was diagnosed with cancer and is undergoing chemotherapy, in a video message on March 22. The exact kind of cancer is not known.

At the time, the princess asked for “time, space and privacy” for her and her family. Since then, she has only gone out in public twice — the first was in June for King Charles III’s birthday parade, and then Sunday at Wimbledon.
