Kai Trump is set to make her LPGA Tour debut at an upcoming Florida tournament that will feature basketball superstar Caitlin Clark.
Trump, a University of Miami golf commit and senior at the Benjamin School, announced she’d received a sponsor’s exemption on Oct. 28 to play in The ANNIKA pro- Nov. 10-16 at Pelican Golf Club in Belleair, Florida.
She is currently competing in varsity high school golf with the Benjamin School, which began its postseason on Monday with the district tournament in Palm Beach Gardens.
This summer, Trump competed in junior and amateur tournaments on the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) and the Srixon Medalist Tour on the South Florida PGA, highlighted by a third-place finish in July.
“My dream has been to compete with the best in the world on the LPGA Tour, and I am thrilled to be able to compete at The ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge at Pelican in November,” Trump said. “This event will be an incredible experience. I look forward meeting and competing against so many of my heroes and mentors in golf as I make my LPGA Tour debut.”
With a mission to grow the game of golf to younger and more diverse audiences, Trump has more than 6 million combined followers across social media (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and X). She also recently founded her own apparel and lifestyle brand aimed at empowering young women in sports.
“Kai Trump has a tremendous passion for the game and is expanding the sport to broader audiences,” said Justin Sheehan, Director of Golf and COO, Pelican Golf Club. “She has a bright future at Miami, and we look forward to welcoming her and our entire tournament field to Pelican Golf Club in November.”
The ANNIKA is the penultimate LGPA competition of the season. It is hosted by 10-time major champion Annika Sorenstam and sponsored by Gainbridge.
In October, tournament officials announced Clark, who serves as a Gainbridge ambassador, would return to play The ANNIKA for a second straight season.
Other tournament sponsor exemptions include Wake Forest Senior Anne-Sterre den Dunnen and Northwestern All-American Lauryn Nguyen.
