Justin Thomas has revealed whether he would like Tiger Woods to become the next United States Ryder Cup captain.
The USA are looking for a replacement for Keegan Bradley, whose team lost 13-15 to Europe last September.

Woods would be the most popular choice, but he does not seem 100 percent sure whether to take the job.
Thomas has now made his feelings clear on Tiger’s potential appointment ahead of the 2027 Ryder Cup in Ireland.

Speaking to former PGA Tour player Smylie Kaufman, Thomas recognized that Woods’ busy schedule could be an issue.
Bradley’s tenure proved that Ryder Cup captaincy has become more time-consuming than ever, especially with all the media obligations.

Woods already has a lot going on, including his return to action, so he may not be able to commit to the job as much as he would like to.

However, if Tiger were to accept the role, Thomas would be delighted to have his golfing hero in charge at Adare Manor.
“I’d love to, yeah,” Thomas said about playing for Woods. “He’s so busy, and he’s doing so much, so I think the biggest thing for him is just to feel like he can give it his full attention and do it well.
“He’s not going to do anything if he can’t fully buy into it and give it his full attention, because he would say it’s not fair to the guys on the team, and it wouldn’t be fair to him.
“If he feels like he can do that, then I really do feel like he will, and I hope so.”

Woods is never going to be a regular on the PGA Tour after all his injuries, but he could still compete at the major championships.

Many believe that he will finally make his return from a long-term Achilles rupture at the Masters next month.
And given that he is not getting any younger, it would be wise to focus on playing golf at the highest level while he still can.
Once he retires, Woods could then transition into becoming the USA Ryder Cup captain.
This would give him another challenge to focus on at a time when he might be craving competition.
