Jordan Spieth would have been furious with himself after he double bogeyed his final hole at The Players Championship for the second consecutive day.
Spieth actually played fantastically well on day two at TPC Sawgrass, and he was six-under-par for his round standing on the ninth tee (his final hole of the day).

However, the 32-year-old made a real hash of things and ended up making a seven to drop back to four-under-par for the day and three-under for the tournament.
Spieth has never achieved any kind of real success at The Players Championship, but he would have fancied his chances of contending after he had played 35 holes.
Perhaps he still will, but his job has been made that little bit harder after his poor finish on Friday.
Spieth has gone through a big swing change over the past year and now he’s finally starting to feel comfortable with his new move.
However, the double bogey he made on his final hole of the day will leave him questioning whether he has complete trust in his new swing just yet.

A dejected Jordan Spieth addressed the media at TPC Sawgrass immediately after his second round.
Spieth was asked by reporters how he’s feeling after finishing up with a double bogey on his final hole of the day.
“Yeah, it was just a bummer, both days finish with doubles. I just played better than that,“ the man from Dallas said.

“I’ve been playing really well, trying to let the course come to me. Don’t have to force anything. It’s not quite there yet, but it’s like close enough to where I can do what I did today for a while.

“Yeah, so just kind of stinks because to finish like that, I would have — some days you wonder if you shot one stroke worse but you finished with a birdie if you would actually be happier. It’s a weird deal, weird game.
“I mean, I didn’t feel like I did too much wrong, so in that sense it wasn’t like I made any decision errors. It was execution. I can swallow that a lot easier.“

The three-time major champion was obviously fuming after finishing his second round with a seven on the par-five ninth hole.
However, he did admit that he got a truly phenomenal break on the 18th hole (his ninth) earlier on in his round.

He was asked by a reporter if he caught a tree with his tee shot.
“Oh, yeah. That was a phenomenal break, yeah,“ Spieth replied.
“You want to obviously capitalize.
“So, yeah, it was nice. Yeah, Rickie asked if I called bank and I didn’t, and it wasn’t just coming back into play, it also went forward, it was a phenomenal bounce.“
Jordan Spieth has actually played some really good golf at The Players Championship this week.
He just needs to cut the silly mistakes out of his game and he may well contend this weekend.
