Jesse Love is hoping for redemption in the NASCAR O’Reilly Series race at Rockingham Speedway this weekend. After crossing the finish line in first place at Rockingham in 2025, Love’s No. 2 car failed post-race inspection, giving the win to JR Motorsports driver Sammy Smith in dramatic fashion.

The Richard Childress Racing driver was shocked, but it was still a strong performance out of the No. 2 team. Now, Love looks forward to taking out his anger from last year at Rockingham. The driver of the No. 2 car knows he had the best vehicle in 2025, even though it was legal at the end of the day.

Love understands that NASCAR can change quickly, but the motivation from last year’s shocking defeat is driving him to narrow the points gap to Justin Allgaier. With the new Chase format, points are now a premium asset, and winning at Rockingham would go a long way in helping his position in the regular season standings.
