SAUK CENTRE – The margins are thin at the Section 8-3A Tournament.
The Bemidji High School boys golf team shot a 310 at Greystone Golf Club on Wednesday to finish in fifth place, making the cut for day two. The top six teams advance to the second day, where the winner of the tournament and the top six individuals not on the top team qualify for state.
The Lumberjacks trail first-place Alexandria by 20 strokes. Brainerd (295), Sartell (296), Buffalo (309), Bemidji (310) and Moorhead (316) round out the top six teams after day one.
Jackson Fogelson paced all BHS players with a 74. Beckett Grand (76), Axel Burlingame (79), and Weston Seitz (81) completed the Jacks’ top four, while Logan Brink (82) and Graham Fish (83) also competed.
Fogelson is four shots off the lead. Alexandria’s Weston Nyberg and Brainerd’s Aydan Dobis each carded scores of 70.
