This was further promoted by Turki Alalshikh, Chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority. Alalshikh shared a promotional clip on social media featuring superstars and prominently showcasing the Crown Jewel Championships. The video teased another night where the promotion’s biggest stars will collide in Riyadh. More importantly, the promotional material confirms that the champion-versus-champion format will once again be at the heart of WWE Crown Jewel.

WWE and Saudi Arabia’s ongoing partnership

The announcement is another major development in the company’s ongoing partnership with Saudi Arabia. Crown Jewel 2026 will also be one of several major PLEs taking place towards the end of the year.

The PLE’s November 7 date places it between Money in the Bank on October 10 and Survivor Series on November 28, giving the promotion a significant international attraction during the final months of 2026. With more than two months remaining before the PLE, the Stamford-based promotion has plenty of time to establish the champions who will eventually clash in Saudi Arabia.

The 2026 edition of the PLE will continue the tradition established when the promotion introduced the Crown Jewel Championships in 2024. The concept sees the reigning men’s world champions and women’s world champions from both RAW and SmackDown face each other, with the winners being crowned the respective Crown Jewel Champions.

The inaugural Men’s Crown Jewel Champion was Cody Rhodes, who defeated Gunther at Crown Jewel 2024. On the women’s side, Liv Morgan made history by defeating Nia Jax to become the first Women’s Crown Jewel Champion.
