At Maracanã, Flamengo defeated Fluminense 1-0 this Sunday (20th), closing the 15th round of the Brasileirão 2025.
The first half of the classic was weak and lacked excitement. The Rubro-Negro had more ball possession, but the Tricolor defense was well positioned, waiting for a counterattack.
Fla did not shoot on goal during the first 45 minutes, and Flu posed a bit more threat, although they didn’t have any really clear chances.
The game after the break took a while to “get going,” but the Rubro-Negro posed a significant threat with a header from Léo Ortiz (12′), which Fábio saved.
At the end of the game, the striker managed to win a corner after leaving Freytes on the ground and forcing Fábio to make a great save.
On the corner kick, after a deflection at the near post, Pedro slid in almost under the crossbar to secure Flamengo’s victory.
With the victory, Flamengo reached 30 points and did not let the leader Cruzeiro (33 points) pull away.
Meanwhile, Fluminense, with their second consecutive defeat, remained with 20 points and dropped to eighth place.
The Rubro-Negro returns to the field on Wednesday (23rd), when they visit RB Bragantino in the interior of São Paulo, while the Tricolor das Laranjeiras hosts Palmeiras at Maracanã on the same day.
