Karrion Kross called out a major WWE star ahead of tonight’s edition of SmackDown. Kross saw a massive rise in popularity following his explosive rant at WrestleMania 41 earlier this year.
Ahead of tonight’s edition of the blue brand, the promotion posted an article about which stars on the roster would make an interesting challenger for World Heavyweight Champion Gunther. Kross was mentioned in the piece, and he took to social media to respond.
The veteran noted that he had nothing but respect for the World Heavyweight Champion and would love the opportunity to get in the ring with him.
“Nothing but respect for The General. I’d love to fight him. ⏳,” he wrote.
Gunther defeated Jey Uso in the main event of this past Monday’s edition of WWE RAW to become the World Heavyweight Champion. Kross hasn’t been featured in a match on RAW or SmackDown since the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal on the April 18 edition of the blue brand.
Former WWE writer claims Triple H is scared of pushing Karrion Kross
Wrestling legend Vince Russo recently suggested that Triple H was scared to give Karrion Kross a push on WWE television.
The King of Kings currently serves as the promotion’s Chief Content Officer. Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling’s Writing with Russo show, the veteran noted that The Game definitely heard what Kross said during his rant at The Show of Shows earlier this year. Russo added that Triple H was not a writer and claimed that he did not know how to create a long-term storyline for the former NXT Champion.
“Obviously Triple H saw what Karrion Kross said. It wasn’t missed. I really really wonder bro if it is the fear of ‘How do we do this? I am not a writer, I don’t know how to write this week after week after week.’ I just really wonder if that’s what it really comes down to, because you can’t miss stuff that’s right in front of your face.” [16:00 onwards]

Karrion Kross has never won a title during his time on the main roster. Only time will tell what WWE has planned for the 39-year-old moving forward.
