Lucas Glover has never been afraid to speak his mind. It’s why his weekly show on Sirius/XM Radio’s PGA Tour Network has been among the more popular programs on the network since its inception in December 2023. The former U.S. Open winner offered candid (and sometimes controversial) opinions on a variety of topics relating to professional golf—slow play, driver testing, signature events to name a few—often questioned PGA Tour leadership in the process.

Yet now that the 46-year-old PGA Tour veteran is part of that leadership—he joined the tour’s Player Advisory Council earlier this year and was named chairman—he’s turning off the mic. Glover told Golfweek that the euphonious “Lucas Glover Show” (co-hosted by his agent Mac Barnhardt) is going off the air.

Cynics might wonder if tour brass suggested Glover turn down the volume now that he’ll be more directly involved in the mechanics of the tour, particularly too given that Glover’s position as PAC chair means he’ll move on to being a Player Director on the tour’s Policy Board and PGA Tour Enterprises in 2027. However, Glover said that the decision was his.

“I got a little grumpy,” Glover told Golfweek. “It started out being fun and jovial and then ti turned into complaining about issues at the tour. That’s not why I started doing it and not where I wanted it to go. It made for some good entertainment, but I wanted it to be more fun. It didn’t feel like it was me, it wasn’t my personality coming out.”

Glover said he had turned down joining the PAC on 10 previous occasions over the course of his 23-year career, once calling it “useless” on his radio show. But upon joining the group this year, he acknowledged that he thought it was time was finally right, particularly with Brian Rolapp taking over and wanting to create a new vision for the tour.

“I can add value from inside the room instead of outside,” he said. “So I’ve got time, and there’s enough guys that want my voice in there to be heard, that I should probably do it.

“I’ve seen the tour from all the angles. I was never top 10 in the world but close enough, and I’ve gone through the ups and downs and been in some categories that some guys are now fighting for their spots, just kind of seeing it from everywhere.”

As for his radio fans disappointed that he’s going off the air, Glover did offer one bit of good news: He isn’t shutting off the possibility of resuming his show some day down the road.
