Uncertainty surrounding Jon Rahm’s DP World Tour and Ryder Cup participation
Questions are swirling around Jon Rahm’s future with the DP World Tour, and that extends to his place in the Ryder Cup as well.

Rahm was a key part of Europe’s win at Bethpage Black in September, producing what many felt were the two standout shots of the entire week.
But there are now questions about whether he’ll be part of the European team again when they head to Adare Manor in 2027.

Rahm, along with Tyrrell Hatton, is currently appealing a series of fines handed down by the DP World Tour after their move to LIV Golf in December 2023.
It’s likely they’ll lose that appeal, meaning they’ll either have to pay up or risk losing their tour memberships.
Losing that status would mean missing out on Ryder Cup eligibility as well. Rahm’s relationship with the DP World Tour seems strained at best these days. In an interview with The Telegraph, one source mentioned that Rahm feels like he’s doing the tour a favour just by showing up.

Rahm’s frustration with the DP World Tour is clear
Last year, Rahm made his feelings known by choosing to play in both the BMW PGA Championship and Open de Espana.
But he didn’t feature in the final two events of the season, including the DP World Tour Championship.
After finishing tied for ninth in Madrid, Rahm said he didn’t expect to play another tournament until LIV Golf Riyadh at the start of 2026.
The appeals process for Rahm and Hatton could set up an interesting showdown with LIV Golf and DP World Tour officials this summer.
The expectation from many around the sport is that both players will find their way into the team one way or another. It seems likely a solution will be found before Adare Manor hosts next year’s event.

You’d imagine there’s enough time and incentive for both tours to find some common ground, especially with no Ryder Cup scheduled for this year.
Still, it’s a complicated situation that neither side really needs right now.
