This week marked the LPGA’s seventh event as the tour was in Las Vegas for the Aramco Championship at Shadow Creek, an event that was co-sanctioned with the Ladies European Tour. The LPGA had visited heralded Shadow Creek for several years but this was the first time for this particular championship and a new sponsor.

Each of the top 20 players in the world were in attendance playing for the $4 million purse. That included Nos. 1 and 2 Jeeno Thitikul and Nelly Korda. Ultimately it was No. 32 Lauren Coughlin who walked away with the victory, her third on the LPGA, but first in the United States. She shot seven-under total to collect $600,000. Korda and Leona Maguire tied for second place, meaning Korda finished runner-up for the third straight week, the first time that’s happened since Lorena Ochoa did the same in 2006.

Hyo Joo Kim, winner each of the last two weeks, tied for 13th place. Thitikul tied for 17th place.

The tour takes next week off as not to go opposite the Masters, then heads back to California and then the first major of the year, the Chevron Championship, April 23-26, in Houston.
