Golf Fans Disappointed By Charlie Woods’ Performance At U.S. Junior Amateur originally appeared on The Spun.

Nearly two months ago, Charlie Woods was on top of the golf world. Unfortunately, he learned the hard way that it’s hard to stay on top.

In late May, the son of Tiger Woods won the Team TaylorMade Invitational in Bowling Green, Florida. He shot a 66 in the final round to win this AJGA tournament by three strokes. Despite picking up the biggest win of his career at 16 years old, he showed tremendous maturity during his media availability.

“Being able to say to myself that I won an absolutely amazing event and to say I performed under some high pressure situations is just huge going forward,” Woods said.

Hopefully, Woods’ maturity helps him bounce back from this Tuesday’s letdown.

Woods started off the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship with an 11-over 81 in the opening round. He knew he’d have to be much better this Tuesday at Trinity Forest Golf Club.

Technically, Woods was much better in the second round. The talented golfer shot a three-over 74. However, that wasn’t good enough for him to make the cut in Dallas.

Unsurprisingly, golf fans had a lot to say about Woods missing the cut at the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship for a second straight time.

“Ouch,” one fan said. “Tiger probably isn’t happy.”

“How do we know he will bounce back? Can’t he just be a solid college golfer,” a second fan commented.

“Missed cut by 10 strokes… stay in school and get a good education,” another fan wrote on X.

The good news is there’s plenty of time for Woods to learn from his mistakes.
