Vegas Golden Knights forward Victor Olofsson left Tuesday night’s game against the Washington Capitals with an apparent lower-body injury.
The 29-year-old winger got the Golden Knights on the board tying the game at 1-1 with his third of the season and his second on the power play.
Olofosson went on the play 16:24, recording three shots on goal before he suffered his injury. Olofsson went hard into the boards with 5:46 left in the third period. The Swedish winger had to be helped off the ice and did not return. After the game, HC Bruce Cassidy did not have an update but said it “didn’t look good.”

The initial results of the injury seem to be severe and could lead to Olofsson missing an extended period of time. If he does go on to miss time, Brendan Brisson appears to be the most logical replacement.
Brisson played the season opener against the Colorado Avalanche but has been held out of the lineup since then. Cole Schwindt entered the lineup to replace Brisson and has held down the fourth-line centre role.

Brisson can come into the lineup and try to replace Olofsson’s production. They both have high-level shots and can be lethal producers on the power play.
Olofsson’s injury is unfortunate but it creates the opportunity for someone to seize it.
