JENNERSTOWN — The Jennerstown Speedway Complex hosted Children’s Hospital Night, June 7, with six divisions in action.

Cameron Ruggles collected his second win of the season in the Somerset Trust Fast and Furious 4s. The Virginia driver led all 15 laps and fended off Noah Hirko for the victory. Johnathan Haburcsak took third.

Aaron Van Fleet passed Josh Dunmyer with four laps to go in the 15-lap One Stop Auto Sales Pro Stock feature and rolled from there to win No. 2 on the Year.

Dunmyer gained the lead from Chris Brink three laps in, but could not hold off Van Fleet, who is the defending champ in the division. Brink took third in the 5-car feature.

Jeff Giles picked up his first career Stoystown Auto Wreckers Modified victory in thrilling fashion. It was his first win in any division in two years. He previously ran a Pro Stock.

Giles started on the pole and led every lap but was challenged hard by defending champion, Tom Golik. The two battled side by side in the latter stages of the race, but Golik could never clear Giles.

Doug Glessner finished third.

Carley Awtey earned her first win of the season in a caution-filled Integrity Coatings Chargers 20-lap feature.

She led the first eight laps before Nick Niemiec and Cash Shaulis made the pass for first and second.

The caution flag flew with three to go.

Neimeic and Shaulis dueled on the restart and prior to reaching the finish line, the two tangled, bringing out another caution.

Awtey and fiance Aaron Luteri started on the front row on the restart. Erik Mauzy quickly passed Luteri for second. But as Awtey was headed for the checkered flag, another yellow flag flew.

Awtey would not be denied. She checked out on the restart to top Mauzy and Ken Burkholder.

Will Hemminger won the 50-lap Martella’s Pharmacies Late Model feature. He led every lap of the race, and no one ever really challenged the North Star High School student.

R.J. Dallape made a late-race pass of veteran Barry Awtey for second, but he ran out of time to battle with Hemminger. Dallape finished second ahead of Awtey.

In the nightcap, Richard Meehleib Jr. won for the second time in the Ron’s Collision Center Street Stocks.

Casey Fleegle took the early lead away from Andrew Kostelnik. But with eight laps to go in the 20-lap feature, Fleegle’s drive shaft broke, bringing out a caution for debris.

Meehleib passed his father, Rick Meehleib on the restart and cruised to the victory. John Fama finished third, edging Kostelnik.
