“Vince is sitting in a suit on the concrete floor, and he’s crying hysterically. He’s saying, ‘Thank you, thank you,’ shaking my hand as I’m standing up,” he said.

Sahadi further added that he saw the former WWE Chairman crying even after 20 minutes.

“He’s still crying, sitting on the stairs with Pat Patterson. He’s like, ‘Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.’”

It is very rare for fans to hear about incidents where Vince McMahon was crying.

David Sahadi believes that Vince McMahon was chasing his father’s approval

During the same interview, Sahadi further explained the incident. He claimed that the incident meant a lot to Vince because it also symbolised the passing of the torch from his father to him. He also claimed that Mr. McMahon was always chasing his father’s approval.

“To me, the spot was a passing of the torch from the old generation to the new guys. I think for Vince, though, it was a passing of the torch from his father to him, and that’s why it hit him so hard on a visceral level… Vince always sought his dad’s approval, much like Shane has always sought Vince’s approval. You see that in the McMahon men,” he said.

Vince McMahon has been surrounded by some major controversies over the past few years. It will be interesting to see if the fans will ever get to see him back on the company’s programming.
