The Rock aligned with John Cena last year at Elimination Chamber but did not make another appearance during the legend’s retirement tour. Cena lost his retirement match to Gunther at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13, 2025.

John Cena recently opened up about what happened with his storyline with The Rock and Travis Scott.
Speaking on No-Contest Wrestling, Cena noted that the card was always subject to change, and that is what happened with his alliance with The Brahma Bull and Travis Scott last year.
“It happens from the top of the card down to the bottom. They will switch. They will cut your time. They will give you different creative. It happens all the time. So I didn’t flip out when Travis didn’t want to do it anymore, when The Rock chose to go another way. It happens,” Cena said.
Only time will tell if the 53-year-old decides to return to WWE anytime soon.
