Former Florida Gators men’s golf standout Ricky Castillo captured his first PGA Tour victory at the Puerto Rico Open on Sunday, marking the 100th tour tournament title for members of the Orange and Blue.

The native of Yorba Linda, California, shot a weekend low and bogey-free 67 (-5) in the final round after three consecutive rounds of 68 (-4) for a 72-hole score of 271 (-17). The triumph earns him an exemption into The Players Championship on March 12-15 at TPC Sawgrass and the PGA Championship on May 14-17 at Aronimink Golf Club.

Castillo also collected his second professional win as he won in his Korn Ferry Tour debut in a playoff at the Wichita Open following Florida’s national championship in 2023. He started the final round with a one-shot lead at Grand Reserve Golf Club and regained the lead behind his chip-in for eagle on the par-5 sixth.

The UF alumnus played the final two holes with a one-shot lead at 17-under and made par-par to hold for the victory as he was bogey-free for 52 straight holes to end the tournament.
