Things aren’t going particularly well for the Florida Panthers on their western road swing.

Two days after suffering their first shutout loss of the season in Vancouver, Florida was blanked for the second game in a row, falling 3-0 to the Calgary Flames.

For the third consecutive game, Florida allowed their opponent to get on the board first.

About halfway into a fairly evenly played opening period, Dmitry Kulikov tried to carry the puck out of his own end and had his pocked picked by Nazem Kadri.

A quick backhand-forehand move saw Kadri able to slide the puck behind Spencer Knight and give the Flames a 1-0 lead.

Florida did well to keep Calgary away from Knight for the most part after the goal, but still couldn’t get one past Dustin Wolf.

It briefly looked like Mikael Backlund doubled the Flames lead midway through the second.

Replays showed that Backlund kicked the puck into the net so after a quick review, the goal was taken off the board.

A quick shot off the stick of Blake Coleman during the final minute of the middle frame sent Calgary into the third period with a commanding 2-0 lead despite being outshot 22-14.

Backlund would get his goal, beating Knight at the 6:17 mark of the third period to put the Flames up 3-0.

On to Edmonton.
