On Instagram, Gunther shared a two-word message aimed at Balor, reminding him of his Universal Championship win in 2016.

Gunther has been chasing the Undisputed WWE Championship for months. He was previously unsuccessful in dethroning Cody Rhodes while he was champion. This led to a match between Gunther and Nick Aldis at SummerSlam, with The Ring General emerging victorious.

Finn Balor Spoke Highly Of Dominik Mysterio

Finn Balor and Dominik Mysterio were stablemates in The Judgment Day before the latter decided to boot the former WWE Universal Champion out of the faction.

Speaking at a Zuffa Boxing event, Balor spoke about Mysterio and praised the former WWE Intercontinental Champion, claiming that despite their past ups and downs, Balor has nothing but love for Mysterio.

“Let me say something. Dominik Mysterio is annoyingly cool. The kid- everything he does seems cool, and he does everything effortlessly. Obviously, we’ve had our ups and downs, but I got nothing but love for Dominik Mysterio, and I think he’s going to be a huge, even bigger star than he is currently. I think he’s still on the rise and I’m excited to see where he goes.”

Finn Balor and Gunther could be set for a feud on SmackDown. The two still have their sights on the Undisputed WWE Championship, with Sami Zayn winning the title on the latest edition of SmackDown.
