But when Dominik realized he couldn’t beat Penta fairly, he asked Balor and McDonagh to help him. McDonagh tried to hand him the timekeeper’s hammer, but Balor prevented him and pushed for a clean win.

However, Dominik Mysterio was unable to get the win after Penta hit him with the Mexican Driver to become the new Intercontinental Champion. Finn Balor shared images from the match and dropped his first comments about the tough loss for The King of the Luchadores on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“Boy that escalated quickly,” Balor tweeted.

It will be interesting to see how Dominik Mysterio reacts to his loss next week on Raw. He could blame Finn Balor because he didn’t help him, which could lead to their anticipated rivalry.

WWE reportedly planning to turn Finn Balor into a babyface

After Finn Balor failed to beat CM Punk and win the World Heavyweight Championship at Elimination Chamber: Chicago, he showed babyface tendencies by congratulating his opponent. It wasn’t the first time Balor acted like a good guy amid his title chase and silent rift with Judgment Day.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, WWE’s initial plan for Balor is a match against Dominik Mysterio at SummerSlam. But due to the changes being made on the Road to WrestleMania, their match could happen next month in Las Vegas.

“Finn’s been certainly building towards being a babyface. He did those babyface promos leading into this match,” Meltzer said. [H/T Ringside News]

With what happened on Raw, it seems like WWE is ready to pull the trigger on Balor finally leaving Judgment Day and feuding with “Dirty” Dom.
