The inaugural Universal Champion took to social media today to share an image of Punk hugging him and asked a cryptic question to fans. You can check it out in his post below.

Roman Reigns eliminated Gunther to win the Men’s Royal Rumble match at the PLE last month in Saudi Arabia. Reigns will be challenging Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship at WWE WrestleMania 42 later this year in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Finn Balor reacts to major WWE star’s retirement

RAW star Finn Balor recently shared his thoughts on AJ Styles’ retirement from in-ring competition.

Styles lost to Gunther in his retirement match at Royal Rumble 2026. The Phenomenal One appeared on Stephanie McMahon’s What’s Your Story? podcast and Balor sent in a video tribute. Finn Balor claimed Styles was the benchmark for what it meant to be a professional wrestler and that he was grateful for the chance to work with him.

“For me, you are the benchmark for what it is to be a professional both inside and outside of the ring. I’m very grateful that I got the opportunity to share the last 10 years with you here in this company. I know we kind of dodged each other a lot on the Indies. You were in TNA, I was in Japan. When you came to Japan, I went to NXT, so we missed each other for a long time. But I feel like getting to know you over the last 10 years on a personal level and in the ring, and just witnessing how great and phenomenal you really are, I wanna say thank you for being AJ Styles,” he added.

It will be interesting to see if the 44-year-old can pull off the upset and defeat CM Punk to become the new World Heavyweight Champion at WWE Elimination Chamber later this month.
