Back in the early aughts, when reality TV shows like ‘Survivor’ and ‘The Real World’ ruled the airwaves, golf fans found themselves gripped by ‘The Big Break.’ Golf Channel’s entry into the burgeoning genre pitted aspiring golfers against each in a bid for various tour exemptions, helping to jumpstart the careers of players from Tony Finau to Wesley Bryan before being cancelled in 2015. Now, a decade later, it’s time to grab those old Oakleys and dust off that Sumo2, because Y2K is officially back and so is ‘Big Break.’

On Wednesday, Golf Channel announced the return of its cult-classic show, this time with a little help from YouTube stars Good Good Golf. Titled ‘Big Break x Good Good,’ the new season is set to premiere in August 2026 and will take place at Horseshoe Bay Resort just west of Austin, Tx. The season will feature 12 competitors, including Good Good sticks Brad Dalke and Sean Walsh. Dalke finished runner-up at the 2016 U.S. Amateur and was part of Oklahoma’s NCAA men’s team championship-winning side in 2017. Walsh played college golf at Gonzaga, where he was a two-time All-WCC honorable mention.

The stakes will be higher than ever as well. The grand prize will be an exemption into the inaugural Good Good Championship next November. On Monday, Good Good made waves when they were unveiled as title sponsors for the PGA Tour’s newest event, which will take place at Omni Barton Creek in Austin. Thanks to Golf Channel and ‘The Big Break,’ that synergy will now be taken to the next level.

Good Good’s Matt Scharff is set to host alongside ‘Big Break’ alum Blair O’Neal. Good Good personalities Garrett Clark and Tom “Bubbie” Broders will also serve as non-playing team captains, shedding some light on the format fans can expect to see when ‘The Big Break’ returns to living rooms across America next summer.
