The General Manager of AAA, Rey Mysterio, spoke about Galeno and said:

“In regards to Galeno, he was taken to a nearby hospital to get an extensive evaluation. And the initial reports indicate that he is not medically cleared to compete for the near future. With that, Galeno has been taken out of action for now. Let’s see the results that come in the following weeks.”

Rey Mysterio names Damian Priest as Galeno’s replacement

Before the attack, Galeno was in line to take part in the fatal four-way match for the AAA Latin American Championship at Ola de Calor later this month. With him now out of action, the WWE official announced that Damian Priest will be taking his place.

“And as they say in Hollywood, the show must go on. We have to continue and we shall move forward. In the last few weeks, El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr, El Fiscal and La Parka won their respective spots in the AAA Latin American Championship match, which is currently vacant. And I, general manager of AAA, have decided to give the fourth and final spot to former World Champion, Damian Priest. Because of that, right here right now at this moment, I am announcing that it is official on August 30th in Edinburg, Texas, at AAA Ola de Calor, AAA will crown a new Latin American Champion. This is huge and an incredible night in history,” Rey Mysterio said.

With Damian Priest now a part of the match, the entire complexion has changed and it will be interesting to see who will come out on top.
