The NASCAR Cup Series is back at Nashville Superspeedway for the Cracker Barrel 400 on June 1.
The 1.33-mile track with a concrete surface has proven to be unique compared to other 1-mile and 1.5-mile tracks on the schedule.
Last year, Christopher Bell led 131 laps before crashing, and Denny Hamlin was in line to win before several late-race cautions and five overtime attempts shook up the lineup and allowed Joey Logano to win on fumes.
Here are The Tennessean’s expert picks for Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Nashville:
Mike Organ’s pick: Joey Logano, No. 22 Team Penske, Ford
I correctly picked last week’s winner Ross Chastain at Charlotte and was tempted to do the same this week, but opted to go with another former Nashville champion, Logano, who will become the first to win back-to-back in the Cracker Barrel 400. It will be his second win in five races after a disappointing showing in Charlotte.
Nick Gray’s pick: Christopher Bell, No. 20 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota
Bell was the best car for the majority of the event last year before crashing, and he has three top-10 finishes in the other three Cup races at Nashville Superspeedway.
Austin Chastain’s pick: Ross Chastain, No. 1 Trackhouse Racing Chevrolet
Ross Chastain and his team battled to win the Coca-Cola 600. Chastain has won in Nashville before and will get walk away with another Music City victory in 2025.
Tom Kreager’s pick: Christopher Bell, No. 20 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota
Bell has cooled off since winning three straight earlier this year. Bell had three straight top-10 finishes at Nashville Superspeedway before a 36th-place finish in 2024. It’s time to get back on track.
