Ridge Holland was released by WWE early from his contract after initially being told that it would not be renewed. His online complaints and the publicity they generated led to the star being let go altogether, even though he was injured. While the company will pay his rehabilitation fees, they will not pay him for the duration of the time he will be on the sidelines due to the injury.
The former WWE star shared an update on Instagram today, revealing that the surgery had gone well. He needed artificial disc replacement on his C5 to C7. He went on to thank the doctors for the care and the fans for the support that he had received during the process.
“Surgery went well. C5 to C7 artificial disc replacement. Thank you to the amazing care at @hspecialsurgery Manhatttan. And thanking for all the messages of support. I’ll get back to you all over the next few days. #the rebuild”
Ridge Holland shut down the GoFundMe that had been started in his name after his release
The star was left without any pay earlier than expected when he was suddenly released from his contract in November. A GoFundMe was started in his name, and stars and fans donated money, but he ended it and promised that, when he was able, he would donate the same amount to charity.
The star is still recovering now that his surgery is done, and he is likely to miss the next six months of action. Holland will likely provide more updates himself of when he can be expected back in the ring and where he might go now that he is no longer connected to WWE.
