The Eagles are fortunate to have an experience defensive coordinator that isn’t interested in looking for a different job around the league. Despite not losing Vic Fangio to this coaching cycle, his staff will look different with DB coach Christian Parker leaving for a DC job with the Cowboys, and DL coach Clint Hurtt interviewing for a DC position with the Dolphins. The Eagles have opted to promote from within to replace Parker’s role, and have tapped Joe Kasper for the opportunity.
Kasper re-joined the team’s coaching staff under Fangio in 2024 and was in charge of the safety room. It was a position that needed to be fluid due to roster changes and injuries, and the way the Eagles cross-train different players, required him to be involved with the CBs, as well. He was a highly regarded member of the defensive coaching staff during their Super Bowl run, and will now take on more responsibility.
