Ava’s run as an in-ring performer in WWE didn’t last long, and she ultimately became an on-screen character on the developmental brand. Speaking to Denise Salcedo, Joseph Sawyer, fka Joe Gacy, revealed that he always saw Ava as the group’s enforcer and had a few ideas in mind, which never came to fruition.

“I always saw her like she was actually kind of an enforcer for Schism. Like I wanted to stuff where I would have all these followers, and maybe some of the followers were a little like, ‘I don’t know about this,’ and she would be the one that’s like, ‘No, you have to follow him or get out,’ or whatever. I always kind of saw her as like the devout enforcer, which I wish we got to do more of,” Gacy said.

In January 2026, Simone Johnson, fka Ava, announced her departure from the Stamford-based promotion. She hasn’t returned to the wrestling industry.

The Rock recently teased WWE return

Last year, The Rock made a handful of appearances on the weekly product, which led to a beatdown of Cody Rhodes at WWE Elimination Chamber in Toronto. After The Final Boss, John Cena, and Travis Scott attacked The American Nightmare, Dwayne Johnson was gone from the company and made no appearances heading into or at WrestleMania 41.

In an appearance on The Morning Shift, the 54-year-old WWE legend teased a return to the company and told the hosts that if he ever returned at WrestleMania, they would be there as his guests. This was the first time Johnson addressed a potential return to the company, and it’ll be interesting to see when The Brahma Bull will appear on the weekly product.
