With the New Jersey Devils’ win over the Utah Hockey Club, Jake Allen has set a new NHL record.

Allen has become the first goalie in the NHL to record a win against 33 NHL teams. With Utah not carrying over the Arizona Coyotes history and being their own NHL team, he is the first NHL goalie to accomplish this.

Allen didn’t just secure the victory; he also shutout the Utah HC, giving them their first loss of the season.

He had this to say about the win.

“The win is the important part, and the shutout is a bonus for me at this point in my career.”

Regardless of the importance of the win, Allen will forever be the first goalie to set this record in NHL history.
