Denny Hamlin said he will compete in the 2026 NASCAR Cup season despite an ongoing shoulder issue.
Hamlin’s shoulder problems began when he tore his labrum and underwent surgery on his right rotator cuff in the 2023-24 offseason. His shoulder was slow to heal, and Hamlin said he aggravated the injury in late December when he fell while surveying the damage from a house fire in Stanley, North Carolina, that killed his father, Dennis, and left his mother, Mary Lou, critically injured.

Hamlin, 45, spoke with reporters on Feb. 4 before the Cook Out Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium.
