Denny Hamlin revealed the NASCAR-inspired name for his newborn son on Saturday.

The veteran NASCAR Cup Series driver was not in Mexico City last weekend. Hamlin, who drives for Joe Gibbs Racing, had been planning on competing at the NASCAR Mexico Cup race. However, his longtime partner, Jordan Fish, went into labor earlier than expected.

Hamlin and Fish welcomed their newborn son over the weekend. The baby came early and Fish needed to stay in the hospital for an extended period of time. Thankfully, everyone is doing well now.

Denny Hamlin announced the happy news over the weekend.

"Born June 11th • 8 lbs 4 oz • 22 ¾ inchesThe road to meeting him wasn’t easy… but he’s home, he’s perfect, and his sisters can’t get enough of him. Our hearts have never been so full.Introducing our son…Jameson Drew Hamlin 🤎," he announced.

Denny Hamlin, who drives the the No. 11 Toyota Camry XSE for Joe Gibbs Racing, is also a co-owner of 23XI Racing with Michael Jordan. 

The longtime NASCAR star revealed that the name of his newborn son is actually NASCAR-inspired, too.

"The name is Jameson (James' son) with the middle initial D because of his late model car owner Jim Dean (J.D.) and J.D. Gibbs," longtime NASCAR insider Bob Pockrass shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Saturday afternoon, June 21.

It's a cool move by Hamlin – and fans are praising him for putting his family first over the Mexico City Cup Series race weekend.

There will be plenty more NASCAR Cup Series races to compete in, but your child is only born once.

Congratulations to Hamlin and his longtime partner on the major addition to their family. The NASCAR world certainly appears to be in favor of the name choice, as well.
