Inter Milan claimed an all-important 2-1 win at Bayern Munich in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie.
Goals from Lautaro Martinez and Davide Frattesi sealed the deal for Simone Inzaghi’s side at the Allianz Arena.
Meanwhile, Thomas Muller netted a consolation strike for the Bavarians.
As a result, Inter became the first team since PSG in 2021 to beat Bayern on their home turf in the Champions League.
Understandably, emotions were overwhelming, especially for Frattesi.
Indeed, he lost his beloved grandmother shortly before the game.
After the match, he took to Instagram to dedicate his goal to her.
“I know you screamed out loud a couple of times up there my beautiful,” the caption read.
“I want to thank everyone for the affection shown these last few days.
“You’ve really made me feel like one of you. Forza Inter”
