Former Dallas Cowboys edge rusher Micah Parsons has stolen all the headlines in the days (and weeks) leading up to his return to AT&T Stadium to take on his former team.

However, there was another player involved in that blockbuster trade that sent Parsons to Green Bay last month, and he’s also looking forward to taking out some aggression on his former team. That player is Pro Bowl defensive tackle Kenny Clark. Now in his 10th NFL season, Clark spent his first nine with the Packers, where he was a three-time Pro Bowl selection.

Clark spoke with dallascowboys.com this week and mentioned how excited he is to face the Packers and to have the chance to hit his former quarterback, Jordan Love.

“Yeah, you get to hit now,” Clark told Patrik Walker, while smiling and picturing hitting Love. “I’m excited, bro. I’m excited. It’s been a long time coming, and it’s definitely something I’ve been thinking about since I got traded here. I’m excited to go.”

According to Clark, emotion will play a big part in Sunday’s game against the Packers for him, having spent nine years in that organization.

“When you’ve been somewhere for nine years, it’s hard to not have those emotions, but it’s another game,” Clark said. “It’s another game, at the end of the day. I’m definitely going to be amped up. I’m gonna be ready to go, and prepare to do everything I gotta do in order to help my team win, but at the end of the day, yeah, we’re trying to get a win.”

As the other main piece in the Parsons trade (along with two first-round picks), Clark has almost matched Parsons in sacks thus far this season. Parsons has 1.5 sacks through three games and Clark one. Clark also has 10 tackles; however, despite his production, the Cowboys’ defense has struggled. They’ve given up 92 points in three games, which is fifth-worst in the league. Now Clark and the Cowboys’ defense have an opportunity to turn the season around against an offense he’s very familiar with.

“I know them in and out, and they know me,” Clark explained. “They know what I’m gonna do, I know what they’re gonna do.”

Green Bay selected Clark with the 27th overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. This battle will take place in primetime on Sunday Night Football in Arlington, Texas at 7:20 pm EST on NBC.
