After a back-and-forth battle, Lee managed to connect with a lateral press on Jordan and officially became the new TNA Knockouts World Champion. Congratulations are in order for Xia for capturing a win in WWE and winning her first title in her professional wrestling career.

The 37-year-old star felt more freedom after her WWE release

In July of this year, Xia Li appeared on the Busted Open podcast, where she reflected on her run under the World Wrestling Entertainment umbrella and more.

Speaking about her release from her WWE contract, she said she felt more freedom after being let go by the promotion and that she immediately called her coach to get her an MMA fight, as she had always wanted to do.

“I had many things even before I’m in the WWE but now, I feel more freedom. Yes, and right now, I can do fight. I’ve been (wanting a) fight for many years. Last time, I was in NXT. I almost get a fight but they find out so I had to cancel. So, the first day I get out, so I called my coach, ‘Hi coach. When is the next fight?’ And then my coach is like, ‘Oh, August.’ I was like, ‘Okay, I’m in.’ That’s the first thing after release, I call my coach. So I can get this back,” Li said.

That said, it will be interesting to see how far the Chinese star will go in TNA and whether she will find her way back to the sports entertainment juggernaut. Only time will tell.
