Former WWE manager Jim Cornette recently spoke about CM Punk facing Jey Uso. The veteran was predicting the results of Saturday Night’s Main Event.

CM Punk became the number one challenger for the World Heavyweight Championship. However, things took a turn when Seth Rollins was sidelined by a vicious attack from Vision members Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker. The World title was vacated, and later Jey Uso won a Battle Royal to set up a match against the Best in the World at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

During a recent episode of Jim Cornette’s Drive Thru, the wrestling veteran suggested that WWE was trying to replicate the Bloodline saga with Jey Uso and his complex relationship with Jimmy Uso and Roman Reigns. He mentioned that Punk did some great promos leading up to the match. However, Cornette felt the two stars did not have a lot of animosity between them before the high-stakes encounter.

“They think that they’re doing something similar to the long Bloodline saga with this offshoot. It’s a deal of Jey, Jimmy, their interaction, and Roman’s influence on Jey. Punk is best when he’s able to cut a promo on somebody and really team him down and get into the issue. He can’t be a prick here because he’s a babyface, and so is Jey. Punk does a good promo regardless. But I want to see a mixed tag level of animosity, or the Punk-Drew or the Punk and Rollins level of animosity.”

CM Punk and Jey Uso confronted each other

Jey Uso kicked off this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW. The star was talking about how Saturday Night’s Main Event would be the biggest match of his career. However, he was soon interrupted by CM Punk.

Punk laid out the facts to Jey. He mentioned that he respected the star and they were friends, but Uso would not get past the Best in the World this Saturday. Emotions ran high as the two competitors exchanged words before Jey stormed off from the ring.

It will be interesting to see who comes out on top this Saturday at the grand event.
