Charlie Woods, the son of nine-time USGA champion Tiger Woods, is attempting to qualify for his second straight U.S. Junior Amateur.

Woods is playing in the Eagle Trace Golf Club qualifier in Florida, where five spots are up for grabs. Woods, 16, made his U.S. Junior Amateur debut last summer at Oakland Hills in Michigan, where he missed the cut. Tiger won three U.S. Junior Amateur titles and also has three U.S. Amateurs to his name, too.

Starting on No. 10, Woods was 3 under through eight holes before a bogey on the par-4 18th to turn in 2 under, which was good for T-2. His scores are only being updated after every nine holes, so don’t expect any changes to his score until he completes play.

Last month, Woods got his biggest win to date, winning the AJGA’s Team TaylorMade Invitational at Streamsong Black in Central Florida, beating a field consisting of most of the top juniors in the country. Earlier this week, Woods, a Class of 2027 recruit, was able to be contacted for the first time by college coaches looking to recruit him.

Earlier this month, he made the cut at the Florida Amateur Championship.
