Chapman, Giants agree on six-year, $151M contract extension originally appeared on NBC Sports Bay Area
Matt Chapman isn’t going anywhere this offseason.
The All-Star third baseman agreed to terms a six-year $151 million contract extension with the Giants, the team announced Wednesday night.
The deal will keep Chapman in the Bay through the 2030 MLB season, with the third baseman earning a $25 million salary in each year of the deal, with a $1 million signing bonus in 2025.
Chapman has been San Francisco’s most reliable position player during the 2024 MLB season, pacing the Giants in home runs (22), RBI (69) and runs (90) while maintaining his status among the league’s best defensive corner infielders.
