Toluca started the Apertura 2025 on the right foot by defeating Necaxa 2-0 at the Estadio Victoria. The Red Devils showed solidity from the start and controlled much of the match.
The first goal came courtesy of Marcel Ruiz, who defined with class after a great collective play. Necaxa tried to react, but came up against a well-organized defense and an attentive goalkeeper.
In the second half, Toluca extended their lead with a goal from Valber Huerta on a corner kick. The scarlet team took advantage of the spaces and closed the game without major scares.
With this victory, Renato Paiva’s team confirms their good moment after being champions in the Clausura. Necaxa, on the other hand, will have to improve if they want to compete in the tournament.
