It has now been determined that this could be the end of the story, and they could have opted to scrap the whole story because it appeared to have been doomed from the beginning.

The Masked Man was revealed to be Don Furio, who wrestles for Seth Rollins’ Black and Brave training school. The company didn’t say anything when his mask was taken off, and there has been nothing pushed forward.

It could be argued that WWE has a number of options after this. They could never mention the masked man again and instead move forward with plans for Logan Paul and Austin Theory, or they could decide to link it to Seth Rollins.

Since Rollins himself can’t attack The Vision, he could have been sending his trainees to send a message until he can do it himself. Rollins could create his own stable, very similar to The Shield, to go up against The Vision when he makes his return.

Of course, fans have also argued that this masked man could have been a paid distraction from Drew McIntyre so that he could attack Jacob Fatu. The door does appear to be open to interpretation, but at present, it seems that the most common explanation is that WWE can’t run the story without Breakker and Reed, so they made the decision to brush it under the rug and move forward.
