She started her journey with WWE in 2015 with NXT and transitioned to the main roster in 2017. In her last year in World Wrestling Entertainment, Sonya Deville had taken a step back from in-ring action and transitioned into a non-wrestling role as an on-screen authority figure. At TNA, she has an on-screen executive role with Santino Marella.

With WWE’s partnership with TNA in full swing, Sonya is expected to make more future appearances at the black and silver brand.

After her sudden exit from the Stamford-based promotion last year, Sonya Deville opened up on it and said that she was in the middle of the contract negotiations when she received a brief call informing her that her contract would not be renewed.

“I got a phone call – we were in the middle of negotiations and so I thought the phone call was going to be… the middle ground that we met on, an agreement, a contract, and it was, ‘We are not renewing your contract.’ For complete transparency, which this is the first time I’m saying this; I was shocked,” Deville said. The women’s roster in the Stamford-based promotion is fully stacked up right now with superstars like Rhea Ripley, Jade Cargill, Tiffany Stratton, and Stephanie Vaquer leading the show. Sonya’s return to the promotion is unlikely, though, in the future.
