BISMARCK — Braelyn Wiese set a new standard for herself on Monday.

“It was a really good day for freshman Braelyn Wiese,” Jamestown High School golf coach Katie Hemmer said. “She shot a 91, a personal best.”

Wiese and the Jays finished up meet No. 4 of the season on Monday at Bismarck’s Riverwood Golf Course. The Jays shot at 386 to place eighth as a team. Mandan won the tournament with a 300.

“Mylee (Michel) led the team again with an 89,” Hemmer said. “Autumn (Roberts) had a good day today as well. She had to sit out with an injury for the Watford City meet (so) was nice to have her back.”

Roberts shot a 119 while senior Belle Sjostrom carded a 94 and Katelyn Monson finished the round with a 112. Elizabeth Hassebrock rounded out the team’s scores with a 122.

“Overall, the team is playing pretty well, but we need shave off a few strokes from the top four if we are going to qualify as a team for State,” Hemmer said. “We have a little break in the tournament schedule, so that will give us an opportunity to practice.”

Jamestown will be in action again on Aug. 28 at Williston’s Eagle Ridge Golf Course.
